Vintage Pre-loved 1970s 9k gold clasp Double Strand Akoya Pearl Necklace
Akoya pearls are the classic Japanese cultured pearl, famous for their round shape and bright, mirror-like lustre. Here they're graduated across two layered rows, building gently towards the centre for a soft, generous frame at the neckline. The creamy tone has a warm rose glow that flatters every skin tone, and each pearl is individually knotted.
The clasp is the finishing touch. Crafted in 9ct yellow gold in the shape of a ribbon bow and set with a single seed pearl, it's fully hallmarked and lovely enough to wear to the side.
A pre-loved 1970s piece at 18 inches, sitting just at the collarbone. Perfect with a wedding dress, a crisp white shirt or a winter jumper.

What are Akoya pearls?
Akoya pearls are saltwater cultured pearls, traditionally from Japan, known for their round shape and high lustre. They're the classic choice for a pearl necklace.
How old is this necklace?
It dates from the 1970s, with a fully hallmarked 9ct gold clasp.
What is a double strand necklace?
Two rows of pearls joined at one clasp, giving a fuller, layered look.
Is it suitable for a bride?
Absolutely. Akoya pearls are a timeless bridal choice, and a vintage strand makes a beautiful "something old".
How do I care for pearls?
Put them on last, after perfume and hairspray. Wipe with a soft cloth after wearing and store flat. Restringing every few years keeps them secure.
