Three graduated strands of grey freshwater pearls sit one above the other, at 16, 17 and 18 inches, so they fall in a neat, layered cascade at the neckline. The oval pearls have a soft silvery lustre with flashes of blue, green and pink, a modern alternative to classic white pearls.

Every pearl is individually knotted, and the strands are finished with gold wire gimp, a traditional detail that protects the thread where it meets the clasp. The 9ct yellow gold box clasp has an engraved lattice pattern, and it’s pretty enough to wear to the side.
