Antique Victorian Maltese Cross Stick Pin - 15ct Gold Head with Rose Cut Diamond
The head of this antique stick pin is crafted in 15ct yellow gold in the shape of a Maltese cross. Each arm is decorated with delicate twisted wirework scrolls and tiny gold beads, framing a raised centre where a single rose cut diamond is star set, the engraved rays fanning out around it.
The pin itself is base metal with a twisted section near the head, a typical detail of the period, and it finishes with a fine point for slipping neatly through a lapel, tie or scarf.
It comes in its original fitted velvet box from James Walker Ltd, "The West End Goldsmiths" of Rye Lane, Peckham, with branches in Oxford Street, Brixton and Putney printed inside the lid. A lovely link to the jeweller who first sold it well over a century ago. Perfect as a groom's or best man's lapel pin, a scarf or blazer pin, or a special find for a collector of antique jewellery.
